Altered Match Box

It's been a while since I last posted.  I haven't had a lot of time to do much crafting lately, however I am amazed by the crafting talent I regularly see online.  I love all things miniature and vintage so when I stumbled upon the Altered Matchbox challenge hosted by Jeanette at http://scrappinhappyxo.blogspot.com.au/ I was compelled to have a go at making my first Altered Match Box.  Jeanette is celebrating achieving 1000 subscribers on YouTube, so be sure to check out her challenge video and blog for some beautiful creations.. Here is the link ...  http://youtu.be/u8yGRJjjgiY
The challenge was to create an altered match box in a vintage Christmas theme. The colours were to be white and cream and it was to have a hanger and a dangle at the bottom. It also had to have some glitter, tinsel or bling.
I am quite pleased with how my match box turned out :)

Vintage Easel Card

Here is an Easel card I made using La Blanche's "Composer" stamp, highlights coloured with distress inks and Glossy accents used as a resist. The ribbon accent and flowers were also tinted with distress inks and water. It just shows how these inks can be used to achieve a feminine look as well as the grunge look (which I also love). I think this is my favourite.

Distress Inks were used to slightly tint the ribbon and satin flower.

Distress Techniques and La Blanche stamps

Following up to my last post, here is another Vintage style card made using a La Blanche stamp. I first made a background using distress inks and Tim Holtz' spritz and flick technique. I then stamped the music stamp over the top in archival ink. The edges were distressed and coloured with distress inks. The music ribbon was also tinted slightly by swiping the ribbon through distress inks spritzed with water.

Seasons Greetings

I hope you all had a happy and safe Christmas and I wish everyone all the very best for 2013. Cherish the times spent with family and friends as it truly is precious. I haven't had much time to be creative this year, but I have made the odd card here and there. If you ask me, it doesn't get much better than a project that has a vintage theme that uses Tim Holtz products and techniques. There is much fun to be had :) And it just so happens that this months CC101 challenge theme is Vintage/Christmas or both. So here is a card I made using a La Blanche stamp (I love La Blanche stamps) and coloured with Distress inks. Glossy Accents used as a resist  ....

But Wait! There's more ....

Here is another one of Tim's creations. I also have an ideology trinket on which he showed us how to do the patina effect.
Embossed Foil Paper treated with Alcohol Inks. He swiped some archival black ink over the top to grunge it up a bit!
Busy teaching.
A hive of activity.

I met Tim Holtz!

2012 Scrapbook and Papercraft Convention - Brisbane

What an awesome experience. I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to attend some of Tim's demonstrations. And I was so lucky to be able to take home some of  his artwork! Nothing is too much trouble. Tim is so generous with his time and he shares as much information as he can.  He autographed one of his tags and my Compendium books! And to my surprise I am in one of the photos he posted on his blog!
An awesome experience!
Tim's Creations that I was lucky enough to take home!

Having a joke with the crowd.
